Reports To: Corporate Service Manager

ABOUT ROLE

Paradise Private Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing cash received from patients, ensuring accurate invoicing, and liaising with patients and insured patients regarding payments. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow within the hospital sector, with a strong understanding of cash receipting procedures and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily cash receipting and ensure accuracy in billing information, including verifying charges, discounts, and insurance coverage
  • Handle payment queries and disputes, providing timely and professional resolution
  • Liaise with corporate accounts and insurance clients on billing matters
  • Reconcile daily transactions and assist in the preparation of financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations
  • Prior hospital cashier experience is desirable but not required – we welcome candidates willing to learn and grow in the role

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

SKILLS

  • Proven experience in a billing or accounts receivable role (1–2 years preferred)
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, medical billing, or other service-based industries is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and billing software
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate positive leadership within the work environment
  • Knowledge of relevant billing and insurance regulations is an advantage
  • Applicants should reside in a location that is safe and convenient for company transport pick up and drop off, particularly for early moaning, late evening and public holiday shift to support reliable attendance under Hospital 24/7 rotating shift roster
  • Willingness and ability to work flexibly across a shift roster (including early, late, weekend, and public holiday shifts) to support the hospital's 24/7 operational needs.


About Paradies Private Hospital

Paradise Private Hospital has an illustrious past dating back to the pre-independence era when the very first private practise clinic in Port Moresby, in the then-Australian Territory of Papua, was established in 1959 on the site of where the Hospital now stands by Dr Shirley Clifton-Smith – wife of the Director Commonwealth Department of Works.
